Enter your date of birth and this calculator works out your exact age on any date you choose. It uses real calendar arithmetic — not a 30-day approximation — so the answer matches what schools, government forms and offices expect.
The calculation counts complete years first, then complete months, then the leftover days. Because months have different lengths and leap years add an extra day in February, doing this by hand often gives answers that are off by a day. The calculator never makes that mistake.
A helpful bonus: it also shows your total age in months, weeks and days, and counts how many days are left until your next birthday.
Government exams: most competitive exams in India (UPSC, SSC, banking, railways) check age as on a specific cut-off date, usually 1 August. Use the “Calculate Age On” field with that cut-off to know if you qualify.
School admissions: nurseries and schools set minimum and maximum age limits for each class, verified against the birth certificate.
Official paperwork: passport applications, visa stays, insurance policies, pension eligibility and legal documents all need age counted precisely.
Always double-check the year you entered — a wrong year is the most common error.
If you were born on 29 February, your birthday in non-leap years is usually counted on 28 February or 1 March depending on the rule the authority applies.
