Indian vs international numbering

India groups numbers in lakhs and crores (1,00,000 and 1,00,00,000) while the international system uses thousands and millions (100,000 and 10,000,000). The same 1,23,45,678 is “one crore twenty-three lakh forty-five thousand six hundred seventy-eight” in India, but “twelve million three hundred forty-five thousand six hundred seventy-eight” internationally.
